CrossRoads at Dark Lion Pass: Imagine traveling with a group of people that have only one vision in life… Glory and Treasure! They are willing to risk their life and yours… They live on the edge. Now imagine this group playing “fair” when there is glory to be had or treasure to be divided after victory. Well, maybe fair and equitable does not enter into their discussion.
Welcome to “CrossRoads at Dark Lion Pass!” You will both cooperate and compete with your fellow team members to adventure across the wild Dark Lion Pass. Your route will gain you glory and your bravery in battle will be rewarded.
The strategy of the game is simple… maximize the use of your cards to gain the most treasure and experience from the adventure. The competition you will face will be fierce given that every character is willing to risk their lives in the name of fame.
Traveling:
Taking control tip 1: When the opportunity to get travel experience is available for two cards or less take it. A single card is on average worth about 40 experience points. Getting 100 experience points from travel is a good exchange and it usually means that one of your opponents did not get their experience points (a 200 point delta).
Taking control tip 2: When the opportunity to use a single card to rob the party member with the highest experience total from getting a further lead presents itself take it. This is the equivalent of getting 100 experience points for all other players.
Quest:
Experience Tokens Tip 1: Use of your experience tokens will determine if you will finish the adventure with the most glory. If you have a great card combo in your hand bid for leadership and use your EXP token.
Experience Tokens Tip 2: If your attack is going to be weak regardless of what Character you are playing do not bid for leadership and do nt use your EXP tokens. Save both cards and tokens for a better opportunity.
Helix Formation: You are a mercenary fighter hired by a powerful alliance to fight against the other alliances in a war for the Helix Shards. You are striving for victory in a war that has several enemies. Victory comes when you have captured the power source for your benefactors. Temporary alliances and brutal betrayal will help you prevail in a war that ranges across the galaxy.
Combat:
Advancing your skill tip one: Hit and run tactics (move after attack) are extremely powerful for maximizing the use of hexes and keeping your opponents from their intended objectives.
Advancing your skill tip 2: Advance your card draw ability as early as possible to position your hand for late game play. Having card advantage will win you the game in the end.
Combat Risks: Take risks as long as they only expose you to one opponent. If taking a risk exposes you to attack from multiple opponents hold off for a better opportunity.
